NDS Dura SlopeChannel Drains
The NDS Dura Slope system is a pre-sloped, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) channel drain engineered for flat or low-slope installations. With a built-in 0.7% grade, Dura Slope eliminates the need for manual sloping during installation, making it the go-to solution for commercial kitchens, breweries, kennels, and any facility where creating proper drainage fall in existing concrete is impractical.

Channel Sections
The main drainage body available in sloped (0.7% grade) and neutral configurations. Each 4-foot section features snap-together joints and a 4" bottom outlet knockout. Sloped sections progressively increase in depth to maintain consistent water flow.

Dura Slope FAQs
Common questions about the NDS Dura Slope channel drain system
NDS Dura Slope channels feature a pre-engineered 0.7% slope (approximately 1/8" per foot). This built-in grade eliminates the need for manual sloping during installation, making it ideal for flat concrete slabs where creating proper drainage fall would otherwise be difficult or impossible.
Dura Slope can achieve up to 194 feet of continuous slope using sloped channel sections alone. When combined with neutral (flat) sections, you can extend runs up to 266 feet. Each 4-foot channel section increases in depth to maintain the 0.7% slope throughout the system.
Dura Slope channels support load capacities up to Class D (AASHTO), which equates to approximately 575 psi. This makes them suitable for heavy-duty applications including forklift traffic when paired with appropriate iron or steel grates. Always match your grate selection to your expected load requirements.
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) offers several advantages over concrete: it's significantly lighter (easier handling and lower freight costs), naturally resistant to chemicals and corrosion, won't crack or spall over time, features smooth interior walls for better flow, and the snap-together joints eliminate the need for mortar or sealants.
Yes, Dura Slope's HDPE construction provides excellent chemical resistance, making it ideal for breweries, wineries, food processing, commercial kitchens, and industrial facilities where exposure to cleaning chemicals, acids, or caustic substances is common. Unlike concrete, HDPE won't degrade from chemical exposure.
Dura Slope offers a wide range of grate options: polyolefin plastic grates (available in white, gray, dark gray, green, black, sand, and brick red), heel-proof slotted grates, galvanized steel grates, stainless steel grates for corrosive environments, and ductile iron grates for heavy-duty applications. ADA-compliant options are also available.
Dura Slope uses a patented snap-together locking joint system. Channels simply hook together without the need for couplers, adhesives, or special tools. This coupler-free design speeds installation, reduces parts inventory, and creates a cleaner, straighter finished appearance.
Dura Slope provides flexible outlet configurations: 4" bottom outlet knockouts in every channel section, dedicated bottom outlet fittings, side outlet adapters, and outlets with integral P-traps for applications requiring trap primers. This versatility allows drainage system designs to adapt to existing plumbing layouts.
While Dura Slope excels in indoor applications where its pre-sloped design solves flat-floor drainage challenges, it can be used outdoors in certain situations. However, for outdoor applications with existing grade, other NDS channel drain systems like Pro Series or Spee-D may be more cost-effective solutions.
Sloped sections have the built-in 0.7% grade and progressively increase in depth along the run. Neutral sections maintain a consistent depth and are used to extend runs beyond 194 feet, at transition points, or where you need to maintain elevation before continuing the slope. Both use the same grates and accessories.
